Spring Festivals in Kuguno (Takayama City, Kuguno Town)

In April, various regions in Kuguno (Takayama City, Kuguno Town) hold their spring festivals at local shrines ⛩️. Leading the way is the Yamanashi District Spring Festival, the first to take place.

Spring festivals are traditional local celebrations held to pray for a bountiful harvest, and the Yamanashi District warmly welcomes participants from all backgrounds.

There will be traditional performances unique to the region, and whether you’re a festival enthusiast eager to participate or just curious to take a look, everyone is welcome! There will also be free sake offerings, so don’t hesitate to join us!  Following the Yamanashi Festival, each district will hold its own unique festival in succession, each with its own charm. Observers are more than welcome and participation is encouraged - come and experience the traditions and daily life of the local communities!

Yamanashi Hirano Shrine Annual Festival

We are looking for participants for the Hira-no Shrine Festival!

Join us and experience an authentic countryside festival.

Would you like to take part in the festival procession?

Date: Saturday, April 19th

Festival Schedule:

・11:00 - Festival begins

・ 12:00 - Procession from the shrine to the resting area

・ 13:00 - Performances at the resting area  (Traditional Lion Dance, Drum Performance, Festival Banquet)

　　＊ Free Sake will be available

・ 15:00 - Procession returns to the shrine

・ 16:00 - Festival ends

Participation:

・ Men: Join the festival procession (carrying banners, etc.)

・ Women & Children: Festival observation

Participation Fee: Free

Food/Lunch : Please bring your own

Notes:

    •    In case of rain, the festival will be held at the shrine (no procession)

    •    Gathering and dismissal will be on-site

    •    Additional details will be provided to participants
